Upcycle your old jeans
Upcycling a pair of jeans into a new product can be a creative and sustainable way to breathe new life into old clothing.
Here‘s a simple guide on how to turn a pair of jeans into a stylish upcycled product - a small keychain.
YOU WILL NEED:
A small piece of old jeans
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Keyring
Optional: Ribbons, beads, or other decorative elements
AND HERE‘S HOW:
Step 1: Cut out a piece of denim
Sketch two hearts on an old pair of jeans and cut them out. The size depends on your preferences and the desired size of the keychain.
Step 2: Layer the two hearts
Place the two hearts precisely on top of each other, with the right sides facing inwards.
Step 3: Sew the sides together
Sew the open sides together, either using a sewing machine or by hand with needle and thread. Leave a small opening to turn the denim piece inside out later.
Step 4: Turn the keychain inside out
Turn the sewn denim piece through the small opening so that the seam is on the inside.
Step 5: Add the keyring
Thread the keyring through the opening and attach it to the inside of the keychain.
Step 6: Close the opening
Carefully sew the small opening shut to complete the keychain.
Step 7: (Optional) Decorate as desired
Personalize your keychain by decorating it with ribbons, beads, or other decorative elements to give it a unique touch.
Step 8: Completion
Check the seams and the keyring to ensure everything is secure. Your lightweight, homemade denim keychain is now ready for use.
