Winner of the ‘She’s a lady’ design contest – Arta

Modern femininity and contemporary elegance – two things that Högl is all about. But what would Högl be without its loyal clientele spreading the #högllove around the world? That’s why it was so exciting to discover what our customers imagined the next ‘Högl modern classic’ would be for the Autumn/Winter 2021 season. They had to do a sketch of what their style might look like. The winning prize was to have their idea included in the design process when the new collection was being conceived, plus to receive a pair of the shoes themselves and to be given a tour around production at our Taufkirchen headquarters.

One sketch stood out from all of the other really beautiful drawings, all full of potential, that were submitted by many talented people: Arta Seile from Latvia won the design contest with her vision of a combat boot, and her idea then went on to become reality.

The ARTA model is one of the most popular boots in our current autumn/winter 2021 collection and thereby has more than earned the title "modern classic".

Of course, Arta was presented with her boot at our store in Riga at the beginning of the season.

Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances, the visit to the headquarters in Taufkirchen had to be postponed for a while, but the production tour did finally take place in November, to everyone’s delight. Arta spent two days in Vienna first, where she was able to visit our stores, and then came to Taufkirchen to see her boot being created at first hand.

The day was a great success, starting with the welcome in our showroom, where we were able to give Arta an initial insight into our upcoming Spring/Summer collection.

The most exciting part of the day, of course, was the tour of production, where Arta was accompanied by Johannes Hartinger, team leader for technical development of boot shafts. He was able to explain each individual step in the production of her boots in detail, and Arta was even allowed to lend a hand in creating them herself.

The day ended with a visit to our factory outlet where there were plenty more shopping opportunities, followed by a meal together at the Lachinger restaurant in Schärding to round off the day perfectly.

We enjoyed the day and Arta's visit a lot and we thank her again very much for her idea and imagination and hope to hear a lot more from her and her talents in the future.
