Slip-on sneakers you can’t help falling in love with
Fashion doesn’t have to be uncomfortable
Cycling to work, running to catch a bus, or standing for hours at an event: there’s no better footwear for these kinds of situations than a pair of sneakers. Blogger Leonie Rachel shows how easy they can be combined.
Without sneakers, life would be more uncomfortable, more boring and much more complicated. And this sporty trend looks set to continue for a long while yet, since everybody owns at least one pair of sneakers. Of course, not all sneakers are the same and there are all sorts of different looks you can create with them.
In 2018, I acquired a pair of sneakers in a style I hadn’t expected to see again so soon – slip-on sneakers
I used to love slip-on sneakers as a teenager, ten years ago. So at first I thought it was a style more suited to kids in their teens. But now, thanks to Högl’s slip-on sneakers, I know that’s definitely not the case!
The slip-on sneaker is all grown up, just like me, and this is reflected in the new design. They’re one of this year’s footwear must-haves!

The slip-on silhouette is nothing new – we all remember it from the days of grunge girls, punk rockers, skateboarders and lovers of ‘90s fashion. The slip-on sneakers I wore as a teenager were pretty grungy and worn-looking.
Now I prefer a more classic style, which I can combine with lots of different looks. Nowadays there are all kinds of styles, colours and patterns to choose from. My favourites are a classic black model with Swarovski® crystal detailing on the heel. Which brings me to another big trend for 2018: bling. Striking glitzy sneakers will be giving statement necklaces a run for their money this year.
The sporty elegance of these sneakers makes them the perfect match for both dresses and jeans. I wear them to business meetings and after-work events, and they’re also ideal for long walks with the dog. They’re just the thing for breaking up classic looks and giving them a bit of an edge. The high-quality leather of these sneakers enhances their sporty look.

I’m heading back to Berlin soon, and I’m sure this will be the only pair of shoes I’m going to need!
