Mules - in full bloom
I love you, mum ❤
When you love your mum, it’s great to say it with flowers - that’s what Missmondo is doing. She’s picked a very special floral treat.
Tomorrow it’s that time of year again: it’s Mother’s Day, and all over the world mothers are being given gorgeous bouquets of flowers. Do you know where this custom actually originates from? Mother's Day stems from an initiative by American women's rights activist Anna Jarvis. To honour her late mother and draw attention to the problems that women face, she called for a special day for all mothers. In 1914, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson declared that the second Sunday in May would be Mother's Day all over the country. Floristry organisations then brought the day to Europe, where it became established in Germany in 1925.
I think it's a wonderful tradition and an opportunity to tell and show your mother how much you love her! My mother is my biggest styling role model. From her, I inherited a passion for fashion, a feel for unusual combinations and a flair for that little extra ‘je ne sais quoi’. As a child, I would spend hours flicking through her fashion magazines, admiring her clothes and secretly trying things on.

When I first saw these Högl TRAILER
mules, with their delicate floral print on silky shimmering fabric, the idea came to me straight away: why don't I give my mum a slightly different floral gift for Mother's Day this year?!
Some shoes are almost too beautiful to wear and these dreamy Högl mules
definitely belong to this category. The delicate flowers entwine themselves playfully around the shimmering silk-effect mules
. A gold buckle adds a little accent to the wide band across the shoe.
In the world of fashion, floral patterns are always on trend. Flower prints are most often seen on airy summer dresses, delicate chiffon blouses and scarves. As well as clothes, accessories such as bags and shoes are now often adorned with a wide variety of flowery patterns. The delicate red and rosy floral print on these Högl mules
looks romantic and very feminine, and it’s perfect for combining with white dresses or jeans.
With today’s outfit, I wanted to echo the colours of the mules and show that even just a flat shoe can be the highlight of a look: the white cargo-style trousers, combined with the asymmetrically-cut top, look very elegant and do not draw the eye away from the floral print. And if you are still looking for perfect accessories to go with these dream mules, Högl also have a square scarf made of fine silk
, and the WHITTY shopper
bag in the same playful flowery pattern.
I’d like to wish all the mothers out there a wonderful Mother's Day, and I hope they enjoy being given this special floral gift to wear and style ;-)
