A trip to Norderney with Högl
A cosy look from head to toe
Laetitia a.k.a. Missmondo went up to the north with Högl, as one of six bloggers on a feel-good journey.
Early on Monday morning, I set off to one of Germany’s most northerly points: the East Frisian island of Norderney. Högl had invited me there with five other bloggers I know as part of their latest autumn/winter campaign. I was over the moon at the idea, because I’d never been to the North Sea and couldn’t wait to shoot the first autumn and winter looks.
As I was so excited, I started preparations quite early. Because the trip was themed ‘Högl goes Hygge’, I first looked into the meaning of ‘hygge’, and more specifically what it meant to me, so that I could build my looks around it.
‘Hygge’ is no longer just a Danish word: it’s the concept behind a global lifestyle movement. Hygge, for me, is warm light and a snuggly sofa, a picnic in summer or drinking hot cocoa in winter. It’s an attitude that helps us create our own homely environment and appreciate the little things in life more.
The moment we arrived on Norderney, the island cast a spell on me with its rugged nature. And I realised that the sea always encapsulates my personal sense of hygge. That’s where I’m at peace, where I focus on what’s important and where I can recharge my batteries and forget everyday life.

Especially in the cooler months, there’s a very special magic to the North Sea. I loved walking along the beach in all weathers, my eyes glued to the sea and my mind wandering. For my walks on the beach and across the dunes, Högl kitted me out with just what I needed. To accompany my cosy outfit, I wore the stylish and functional MOONWALK boot
The black and white shark-tooth sole not only adds a futuristic design touch, but is also non-slip and makes the shoe weatherproof. The lining inside is made of virgin wool. My feet were so snuggly, warm and dry!
Because this winter boot
is so versatile, I couldn’t decide which look to combine it with, so I went for two:
The first outfit is a combination of dress, jacket, hat and boots. Striped knit dresses in autumnal colours are perfect for this golden season and are nice and warm with thick tights or leggings and cosy boots.
The second look is slightly more fancy - for me a ‘hygge’ outfit par excellence, especially for cold days. The faux fur teddy jacket is not only super snuggly, but also brings colour into play without being too over-the-top. With it, I combined some comfortable pleated trousers with a really loose cut, perfect for wearing tights underneath.
As you can see in these pictures, the island offers an unbelievable range of breathtaking locations for photoshoots. And to top it all, the light was unique. From a dazzling blue horizon to a dramatic cloudy sky, and on to a golden sunset: it was all there.
I strongly recommend a trip to Norderney for anyone looking for relaxation and unique feel-good moments! And most importantly: remember the right footwear ;-).
