Deck the halls (and the tables!)
Festive table decorations for the Christmas period by Gmundner Ceramics
Winter is nearly upon us! ‘Tis the season for cooking, baking, lovingly prepared festive feasts and relaxed evenings with friends. The perfect time to get out your best china. Gmundner Ceramics is very popular in Austria, and is proud of its long history.
Gmunden: supplying Austria with ceramics since 1492
These traditional ceramics are lovingly handcrafted in Austria. The manufactory in Gmunden has perfected the fine art of pottery making – from material preparation, to moulding, to painting its beautiful creations. Painting is at the very heart of the company’s production process, with 40 painters conjuring up the unique, one-of-a-kind designs that feature on these handcrafted pieces. The factory produces 5,000 of these pieces every day.
Families have been handing down their Gmundner pottery for generations. For many, a table laid in white together with the green mottled service marks pure Austrian joie de vivre, tradition, and the coming together of family and friends.
