Austria's best summer open-air events
Dance into the summer!
Culture out in the open air: in Austria, the home of Högl, many events mean spending the balmy summer nights outside.
There are two types of people. Some get comfortable and relax at the end of the day, as the sun slowly sets and the stars take over the sky. Others come back to life once the late-night atmosphere puts everything in a romantic light and casts a spell over the landscape, and their eye contact gets more intense as the hours go by.
If you’re one of the people who like to turn the night into day, then you’ll have plenty of opportunity to do so in Austria, the home of Högl. What could be better than enjoying balmy summer nights outdoors? Wonderful open-air events in exciting locations will entice you to sit under the stars and experience culture all evening long. Whether you’re an art connoisseur, a keen theatregoer, a fan of classical music or a festival lover who is into electro – there is something to suit everyone.

Seefestspiele Mörbisch - Burgenland
(July to August 2019)
The world’s largest open-air operetta stage is in the midst of the imposing natural setting of the Neusiedler See National Park. The Seefestspiele Mörbisch has been thrilling audiences with operettas and musicals since 1957 on a unique stage, directly on Lake Neusiedl. Acclaimed artistic performances attract up to 150,000 spectators to Mörbisch every year. From 11th July to 24th August, you can be transported to far-off China, when Franz Lehár’s operetta ‘The Land of Smiles’ will be making its debut.
In a unique natural setting, classic operetta masterpieces are performed on one of Europe’s largest and most beautiful open-air stages, with a surface area of 3,600 m2. The stage sets are famous for their surreal appearance.
When choosing an outfit for open-air events, the type of event obviously plays a crucial role. If you’re going to the opera, an evening dress will be the perfect choice; operettas and theatre performances might require a more casually elegant look, whereas for festivals and gigs there are no dress codes. For these, weather conditions and looking cool, as well as functionality, are the deciding factors. Högl have the perfect companions for any event you might be going to: feminine but casual sneaker designs are the ideal choice for wild rock concerts and cool electro festivals. For a day in the midst of a bustling, vibrant street festival, Högl can offer you airy sandals, colourful espadrilles and bright and breezy sporty styles.
